The Bunny Rabbit Boogie

Happy Easter everyone!  Just got back from brunch with the family and am enjoying the absolutely beautiful weather.  I even busted out the first gladiators of the season for the occasion.

Dangling From the Amazonian Canopy

And to go along with this polka dot obsession I'm having right now, a polka dot do-it-yourself is here again.  My mom found these lamps at an antique store for the new apartment, so I busted out the black fabric paint and the mini, handled, circle sponge thing and added the spots in the same way as the jeans (see the post titled Cloudy With a Chance of Polka Dots for full directions).  I mean, the lamps weren't crazy enough already.

A Raging Closet Raid

Packing everything in my room, closet, and dresser means finding some things that have been lost in the depths, like this 80's sweatshirt.  My friend Shelby found it at a thrift store and cut out the neck to wear to a Jock Jams themed party at school in all its flashdance glory.  Afterwards it was bestowed upon me because I might actually wear it again, in a non-themed way.  Here it is!

Rookie Rockstardom

Want to make a pair of plain shoes more exciting?  As seen here in my latest do it yourself project, just add studs.  I took these basic black ankle boots (that lace up like ice skates!), some super glue, and a package of gold and silver studs from Hobby Lobby, and started gluing away.  Not really knowing what to do on the front, I started the grid pattern on the back.  It'd probably be good to have some tweezers on hand to help get the studs in just the right spot.  The design possibilities are endless, and you end up with an awesome pair of shoes to enhance any outfit.

This Spring's Identity Crisis

And then I come home to a blizzard that covered the ground with twelve inches of snow.

Real Life Beach Bums

First time on the beach since Europe two summers ago.  It was nice being back on the Emerald Coast of Florida, only six miles away from my second homeland of Destin.  Lots of laying out, playing volleyball, building sandcastles, and doing sorority poses.  It was the perfect last hurrah with all the girls from school before my upcoming move.

Back From the Backroads

If you're wondering why I haven't posted in a while, it's because I've been out of town the past week.  Well, I'm back baby!  The hiatus has come to an end.  I traveled down to Springfield to meet up with the girls, whereupon we left at 1:30am to drive fourteen long, but definitely worth it in the end, hours to the beautiful Fort Walton Beach, Florida!  More about that later.  That drive though; all I could think of while looking out the window was how great all the rural-ity would look as a background.

The rolling fields.

Rolling fields with fences and farm animals.

Homemade advertising.

Dilapidated farm structures.

And invasive plant species such as kudzu and spanish moss.

All Keyed Up

Spring is trying so hard to push through this nasty rainy cold weather.  I can't take anymore of this 65 one day, 31 the next.  Spring Break is a week away for goodness sake!  This fervent wanting of warm sunny days is starting to burst through my soul into what I wear, and this year, nothing says happy springtime more than polka dots.  This time I mix-printed the speckles with a striped skirt of ocean colors.

And this one's just funny.
