The Impressions Their Profiles Convey

I start the new job in less than a week and I finally found the young professional staple, a pair of business shoe heels, with a Forever 21 cheap price tag.  I can't wait to start clicking down linoleum floored hallways and then kicking them off as soon as I get home.

Running the Cloudline

Chet Atkins:  Les, did you know I'm your biggest fan?
Les Paul:  Oh really?
Chet:  I really am.
Les:  hmmmm...
Chet:  Now you've met fans and you've met friends wherever you unpacked your-  Is it a Gretsch guitar, a Gibson, or...?
Les:  A solid body Les Paul model gold black-
Chet:  Yeah...And since I was a little kid I've loved everything you did because you see I'm the biggest Les Paul fan there are.
Les:  And they've got 'em in cherry and white and black-

Taking a Left Off Last Laugh Lane

As in the words of an old college friend when putting together an outfit, "And what does this say?  Does it say I'm over him and bored with this?  That I'm a good person and better than him?"

Yes, messy hair says a lot.

Think, Live, and See the World

Marking your territory is something all animals do.  Humans too, with their fences and guardrails, which is a bit more pretty than the ways other animals do it.  What's cool about it though, is that people have been doing it since the beginning of time, all over the world.

One Solid Block of Air With Dirt Down Beneath

A beautiful summer day calls for some time spent outdoors.  I had a grand plan to go read in the park, and though I was dressed appropriately for the end-of-July heat, I realized I forgot to douse my skin in bug spray to protect me from the little itch-inducers.  So, no reading time for me.  I did however, have my camera with me.

There Ain't No Cure For the Summertime Blues

Here I am being me, watching the sun set after a day of is-it-or-isn't-it-going-to-rain clouds, wearing my favorite color head to toe.  Even my umbrella matches.

Ca Commence

So.  I accepted a full-time job position today as a Project Manager in a corporate interior design firm, with benefits, vacation time, and in an awesome building right next to the old Nashville train station.  No big deal.

Future Wish List

Christmas is about six months away and I already have ideas of what to get for two family members, and plenty of time for brainstorming the other two, my roommate, and the white elephant game gift.  I, however, have begun a list of things that would be nice to have, but I don't really need... in other words, perfect for Christmas, or for when I start making enough money that I can afford things other than those that I absolutely cannot live without.

1.  Duck Boots.  I have a deeply strong dislike for rain and no good shoes for going outside in it.  It's quite a problem.  Enter duck boots.  They look comfy, cute, would work in summer and winter, and best of all, would keep the mud and water off my feet.

2.  Hints of Coppery-Red Color in my Hair.  It's been over a year since the drastic twelve-inch haircut, and about time to change it up a little bit.  Any of these Leighten Meester colors would be fun.

3.  Wave Tattoo.  Subtle and beautiful, in a spot that can easily be covered during times when I have to be conservatively professional.  Not a day goes by that I don't dream of going to the beach, so every glimpse of this would make me happy.

4.  New Bedding.  Mainly just a quilt or comforter.  My reversible, navy blue and stripes comforter from college doesn't fit on my full-size bed (such a nice problem to have!), and the options at home seem a little bit too floral and girly, or are being used elsewhere.  I really like grey for bedding, so I could go with a more solid quilt, a graphic pattern, or get really crazy and add a contrasting color.

Feeling Pale All of a Sudden

These shots may be a little bit provocative for your tastes, but they are beautiful, interesting, expertly shot photos.  I like the anonymity of them, and that they take place on a beach.  You can't go wrong when a beach is involved.

Of High Waist and Slender Purse

One thing I've noticed about Nashvillian females is that they like shorts, especially ones of the high-waisted variety.  Everywhere else, you're either a) a grandma or woman over sixty, b) wish you lived in the eighties,  or c) are super hipster and probably also wearing plastic tortoiseshell frames while carrying around an slr camera.  Here, not so much.  I can't really decide if I'm on board or not.

Fuzzy Peach Sunset

"Girl, you look like Georgia!  With the peach and black.  Oooh girl I like you!"

-An exclamation from a big black lady who walked by me at the bookstore.  Best compliment ever.
