In the Midst of Exploding Rockets and Ringing Bells

First of all, happy December!  Mom hung up the annual Advent Calendar yesterday morning and it's literary themed!  Oooooooh.

Second of all, I suppose the lack of posts in November merits some explanation.  Well, 35-40 hour work weeks, combined with end-of-semester papers, presentations, and projects, and spending time with the family for Thanksgiving made for a pretty crazy last week or so.  Good news is, I got everything done! This picture fairly accurately sums up the last few days of my life.

Before that though, was Thanksgiving!  And a good Thanksgiving it was.  Taylor came into town on Tuesday night, and we celebrated his birthday with a homemade, double layer, coconut milk ice cream oreo pie.  It upheld our new no-dairy beliefs while also being absolutely delicious.

And just in time for Thanksgiving day, it snowed.  That's already the second "snow storm" this year, which does not bode well for the future.  It did look cool through the skylight up in the loft though.

And to cap off the holiday festivities, Mom, Taylor and I went to see Dad play music with Jay Farrar downtown at The Old Rock House.  The blue lighting added to the wintery cold atmosphere, and all the instruments were on display.  Taylor and I decided that they were just old buddies sitting around the fire wanting to listen to the music too.
