Red, White, and Blue-B-Que

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating our nation's independence, filled with friends, barbeque, being outdoors, and fireworks.  I joined Andrew and some friends at a backyard barbeque party.  After a few beers, burgers, and whiffle ball, we decided to go up on the roof to see if we might be able to see the fireworks from that vantage point.  As soon as we hiked up the steep incline, we realized there were way too many trees for fireworks-viewing, but ended up staying up there for a while, enjoying the pleasant breeze and having a few bottle races.  Three, two, one, go!

When it got dark the group started walking towards downtown to find a good fireworks spot and came upon a building that was up on a hill.  We climbed up the fire escape and onto the flat roof which overlooked downtown perfectly.  The show started and the fireworks were stunning, we spent the whole walk home describing our favorites and wondering how fireworks actually work.  Happy day after 4th of July!
